International Students
International students with work authorization are permitted to work as student employees on-campus at Baylor University. There are several steps that all international students must follow before being hired or working as a student employee.
Step 1: Apply to multiple jobs that interest you! Make sure you attach an updated resume.
Step 2: If a supervisor likes your application, they may reach out to schedule a virtual or in-person interview! If you haven’t heard anything after two weeks, email the hiring manager on the job posting.
Step 3: If a supervisor decides to hire you, you will receive a job offer via email! When you “accept the offer” in your email, your hiring process begins.
Step 4: If the position requires a background check, you will receive an email from HireRight to initiate the check. Not many positions on campus require a background check. Check your Spam Folder for this email and make sure you follow the instructions in the email.
Step 5: Submit the On-Campus Employment Form via Global Bears. ISSS can help you with this!
Step 6: Complete your I-9. Part 1 is online, and Part 2 is completed in person. Bring Original Documents with you to complete your I-9 in person.
Step 7: Complete your onboarding paperwork in Ignite. This includes a few forms you need to sign and a form to set up your payment method for paychecks!
Step 8: Apply for a Social Security Card. You will need a letter from ISSS and a letter from your new supervisor (wet signature). When you receive your new card, you need to contact us so we can update it in the system. Visit Human Resources or call 254.710.2000.
