Important Summer Information for Student Employees
Below are important reminders from Student Employment as we enter the summer season:
Student Employment is completing semesterly end date processing! This means that any student with an upcoming end date will be suspended, and they will lose timecard access on that end date.
- If you want your student worker to continue working, but do not know whether they have an end date or not, please run the current student assignment report. The location pathway to the report can be found below:
- Ignite >> Tools >> HCM Management Data Portal >> Current Student Assignment
If you would like to extend the end date on your student worker’s assignment, please complete a Rehire Request Form (or the Mass Change Form if you have several students)
If the current end date set on your student worker’s assignment is accurate, no action is needed on your end!
If your students are not working for you this summer, please submit a Separation Request Form for them. This will prevent hiring delays if students find other on-campus employment during the summer and also give University leadership a better understanding of how many students are actively working on campus!
If the students are returning to work for you this fall, you can submit a Rehire Request Form later this summer
- If you need to make changes for several students, you can utilize our Mass Change Form!
Be sure to create new job requisitions for the 2025/2026 Academic Year! The Department of Education requires that student job postings are updated on an annual basis. Please submit a new Job Requisition Request ahead of hiring for Fall 2025.
As a reminder, all biweekly student employees are hired through Student Employment. Students that are classified as true Graduate Assistants (paid monthly) or Graduate Student Employee Monthly are processed through the Graduate School.
